| Masters, Journeyman’s and Residential license required. All require exam plus experience in the field. License and exam fees vary. $50 Application Process Fee. Test Agency $65 plus License if passed. |
| The State Electrical Board will send a candidate handbook after an application has been approved, which will explain how to schedule for the exam and the required fee. |
| Cannot have more than one apprentice for each licensed electrician. |
| Electrical Contractor – registration required. Fee $150 original, $120 renewal. In order to be an Electrical Contractor, you must be a Master Electrician or have an employee with a Master Electrician’s license. |
| EXEMPTIONS (if less than 50 volts): Security system installation; Burglar alarm installation; Lawn sprinkler system installation; Data processing equipment installation; Communication system installation; Sound recording system installation; Signs |
| PERMITS: The Colorado State Electrical Board issues permits and performs electrical inspections in locations throughout the state that are not inspected by a local authority. Fees vary with size of building. All public schools and state buildings are inspected by State Electrical Inspectors regardless of the location.
