| The State Board of Dental Examiners regulates the professions of dentistry and dental hygiene, and specifies the tasks that unlicensed dental auxiliaries may perform. The Board also sets standards for unlicensed personnel such as dental assistants/auxiliaries and unlicensed personnel who operate x-ray machines or administer radiation for diagnostic purposes. |
| Dentists and Dental Hygenists may be licensed by examination, or by credentials/endorsement if they meet specified experience requirements. |
| License and renewal applications must include required fees and evidence of insurance. |
| Denturists must work directly under dentist’s supervision. |
| All licenses must renewed by the end of February of even numbered years. All fees subject to change. |
| Additional licensure is required for the administration of anesthesia. |
