The Minority Business Office (MBO) announced today that it has awarded $50,000 to five Colorado companies via the Export Grant. This new grant is available to small and medium-sized businesses in Colorado that are minority or women-owned to help offset international business development. The grants of up to $15,000 are for companies that are new to exporting or are expanding into new export markets.

• CandyGrind, Eastlake: $5,000
• Endurance Conspiracy, Boulder: $15,000
The Export Grant, funded by MBO and the International Trade Office (ITO) in the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), encourages small and medium-sized Colorado businesses to develop export markets. Grants may be used for international business development and marketing projects including client development, airfare and lodging to a foreign market, foreign trade show exhibition and conference costs, trade missions, foreign business-to-business matchmaking services, and targeted advertising in overseas industry trade publications.
The partnership between MBO, ITO, the SBDC and the World Trade Center will continue this year to create a pathway for global market opportunities for Colorado businesses with specialized training and possible grants. Registrations for a new round of grant applications and training open on Sept. 1, 2015.
