| For personal use, must obtain a permit (fees and quantities vary) from the District Ranger's office in the particular district. Designated wood cutting areas can change frequently. You must stay within the designated cutting areas. |
| If cutting wood for commercial sales, you must contact the District Ranger's office in the area and ask to be put on the "District Bidder's List." |

| To cut firewood on State Forest lands you must obtain a permit from the Colorado State Forest Service Office in Gould. The permit is good for only one cord of firewood and can be used for one day only. If more than one cord is to be removed, purchase additional permits as needed. |
