| CONVALESCENT CENTER is a health institution planned, organized, operated, and maintained to offer facilities, beds, and services to in-patients requiring restorative care and treatment and that is either an integral patient unit of a general hospital or a facility physically separated from but maintaining an affiliation with all services in a general hospital. |
| Businesses must apply for facility license BEFORE accepting patients License: $150 yearly. |
| The Division, under the direction of the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), also determines eligibility of the facility for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement certification. A Convalescent Center must be certified as a NURSING CARE FACILITY to be eligible for Medicaid and Medicare certifications. Contact HFD for further information is you wish your facility to be eligible. |
