| The Colorado Seed Act (35-27-101 et seq., C.R.S.) requires truth in labeling of seed offered for sale in Colorado. Retail seed dealers, seed labelers, and custom seed conditioners must register. Fees vary. Seed that is not intended for propagation, seed held for wholesale transactions, and seed that is grown and sold on the seller's premises may be exempt under the law. However, the seed is still subject to the noxious weed provisions of the law.

| CUSTOM HARVESTERS: Colorado has a Custom Harvester Permit that can be purchased for vehicles working the harvest season. This permit gives owners of vehicles working the harvest a relatively easy way to comply with Colorado’s registration requirements.

Harvesters are eligible for two permits each calendar year, and they can be purchased at all Ports of Entry (fixed and mobile). Fees vary with type of vehicle.
Every vehicle conducting harvest operations must have a sixty (60) day permit in the vehicle. Harvestors permists are good for sixty (60) days; with one you can make multiple trips in and out of the state without returning to the port of entry.

Every vehicle that transports agricultural products from the field to a place of storage (railroad siding, grain elevator etc.) must have a Colorado Public Utilities Commission Emergency Permit in the vehicle.
