Michelle Hadwiger, Director of Business Development

Michelle Hadwiger is the director of business development with OEDIT, focusing on the recruitment of businesses specializing in Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace, Defense & Homeland Security, Electronics, Financial & Business Services, and Technology and Information.
Michelle joins us from the Southeast Business Partnership where she worked as an Economic Development Specialist. She was responsible for business attraction retention and the T-REX Multi-modal project. Prior to the Partnership, Michelle worked for the City of Lakewood where she worked on real estate development projects, business recruitment and incentive negotiation, and business retention.
Michelle earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Colorado State University, and she completed all coursework for the International Economic Development Council’s Certified Economic Development Program.
Tom Binet, Business Development Manager
Key Industries: Energy & Natural Resources, Infrastructure Engineering, and Bioscience
Tom Binet is a business development manager with OEDIT, focusing on the recruitment and retention of businesses in the industries of Energy & Natural Resources, Infrastructure Engineering, and Bioscience.
Tom transitioned to the team from OEDIT’s International Business Division where he worked as the Trade & Investment Director for the Asia-Pacific. He was responsible both for helping Colorado companies to export their products and services to Asia and for attracting direct investment from Asia into our state. Prior to working at OEDIT, Tom worked for the U.S. Department of Commerce providing market research to Colorado companies seeking to increase sales into China and surrounding markets. In both roles, Tom’s primary clientele were in the Energy & Natural Resources and Infrastructure Engineering industries.
Tom earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in International Relations and Chinese Language and Culture from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and he has completed the full Energy Execs course at DOE’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, CO.
Sam Bailey, Business Development Manager

Sam Bailey is a Business Development Manager with OEDIT, focusing on the recruitment and retention of businesses in the industries of Creative Industries, Food & Agriculture, Tourism & Outdoor Recreation, and Transportation & Logistics.
Sam joined OEDIT in May of 2011 as a Global Business Development Specialist focused primarily on business attraction and the $2.7 million Colorado First and Existing Industry Job Training Program. In December of 2011, Sam transitioned to Relationship Manager of Business Retention & Expansion, supporting existing businesses across Colorado.
Sam also serves as the Program Director for Colorado Companies to Watch, a public/private partnership focused on highlighting fast-growing, 2nd-stage companies across Colorado. The program began in 2009 and has grown every year, recognizing companies from both rural and urban areas of the state. The program is hosted in partnership with the Edward Lowe Foundation based out of Cassopolis, Michigan.
Sam earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Regis University in 2011.
