OEDIT accepting applications for the Governor's Award for Excellence in Exporting

Applications are now being accepted for the 2014 Governor's Award for Excellence in Exporting. This award has been given to Colorado exporters every year since 1970 and recognizes companies that demonstrate a commitment to growing through international trade. Winners will be formally recognized at World Trade Day on May 7, 2014.

The Governor's Award for excellence in exporting recognizes one or more Colorado firms annually for noteworthy success in maintaining or increasing export sales. Companies selected to receive the award represent role models for excellence in international business. In addition, the award provides an opportunity to build public support for international business activity by Colorado companies.

Colorado-based manufacturers, service companies, suppliers or agri-businesses engaged in exporting products or services are eligible to apply. Applicants should demonstrate one or more of the following: breakthroughs in existing competitive markets, introduction of a new product into export trade, opening a trade area previously closed or successfully overcoming challenges to their existing export activity. Unique and successful solutions to problems of export trade such as financing, transportation, marketing or successful promotional programs should also be demonstrated.

Completed applications are due on or before Weds, April 9, 2014. To submit an application, visit www.advancecolorado.com/govexportaward. For additional information, please contact Jorge Diaz at jorge.diaz@state.co.us or 303-892-3858.
