PTI Manufacturing, a company that provides housing for thousands of workers in oil fields and other remote locations, opened a 103,000 square-foot facility in Johnstown, creating 250 jobs over the next five years.
PTI Manufacturing is a division of Oil States International, Inc,. and will provide additional construction capacity for both the U.S. and Canadian remote site accommodation markets. Initial production capacity is projected at 2,500 modular units per year. Currently, PTI owns and operates 22,000 rooms in North America, making it one of the largest hoteliers on the continent.
“This new facility will allow us to take advantage of a highly skilled workforce in the area, and will further facilitate planned capacity expansions in the U.S. shale and Canadian oil sands regions,” said Cindy B. Taylor, Oil States’ President and Chief Executive Officer.
